Strawberry Chocolate Rosettes

The process is very simple and can be made as a fun activity with the kids. Chocolate is a favorite ingredient and loved by all. Strawberries when combined with chocolate elevates their taste. Puff pastry is easily available in all grocery stores. The flaky pastry filled with chocolate and strawberries is a crowd pleaser. Ingredients
  • 1 stick Puff Pastry sheet
  • 1 cup Strawberries
  • 0.25 cup Chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp Unsalted Butter
Instructions
  1. Thaw the puff pastry sheets for 30 mins and then cut them lengthwise.
  2. Wash the strawberries and remove the leaves. Cut them into thin slices lengthwise.
  3. Melt chocolate chips with a teaspoon of butter on a double boiler. Melt them until they glistened.
  4. Spread the melted chocolate over the puff pastry sheet completely.
  5. Arrange the strawberry slices on one edge and spread a few of them on the other end.
  6. Fold the pastry sheet towards inside and then roll them to make rosettes. Spread the pastry sheet a little.
  7. Place in a muffin tin and bake at 350 F for 20- 25 mins. Cool and serve with some fresh strawberries.
Recipe Notes

  • Thawing the puff pastry sheet is very important. Do not use them while they are still frozen. This will result in uneven cooking and not flaky puffs.
  • If you have pastry shells, you can also do the same with them .
  • I have used dark chocolate chips in this recipe. You can also add milk chocolate or white chocolate in this recipe.
  • Instead of chocolate chips, you can also melt chocolate bars if you have them.
  • Always use double boiling method to melt the chocolate.
