Summer is for fresh and easily digestible foods, that must be filling too. We always love our salads and juices made with fresh vegetables and sprouts and fruits. While the sprouts are very healthy to eat and highly nutritious for all, they are also very highly priced in grocery stores, for a small quantity. Trust me, these can be so easily made at home using one kitchen tool that is mostly found in the kitchen. Yes, it is the Hotpack / casserole that is used to store foods to retain their warmth. • In a bowl, add one cup of green gram. Soak them in four cups of water for 4- 5 hours. Wash them and drain the water.
  • Take a casserole/hotpack. Line with a cheese cloth or muslin cloth. Add the drained green gram and fold in the ends inside. Let it stay like that for 8-10 hours or overnight. Store the sprouts in a glass container lined with paper towel. Stays fresh in refreigerator for one week.

Notes
