French Palmier Cookies

Holidays are all about cookies and cakes. We love cookies over cakes due to their crunchy texture. The Palmier Cookies are delicate and elegant French cookies that can be easily made with puff pastry sheets. This palmier cookie is a perfect one for the holiday season for gifting and exchanges than our usual shortbread cookies. It is easy to make and can be made in less than 20 mins. The filling for these cookies can be just powdered sugar, or cinnamon sugar, or all-spice mix. The sky is the limit to flavor these. Ingredients
  • 1 stick Puff Pastry Sheets
  • 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
Instructions
  1. Remove puff pastry sheets from the freezer. Thaw the sheets outside for one-two hours. Spread the pastry sheets with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder with two tablespoons of powdered sugar.
  3. Sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon sugar into the pastry sheet.
  4. Fold them inwards on both sides until they meet in the center. Wrap them in parchment paper and freeze for 15 mins.
  5. Remove them from the freezer and slice them to one inch size.
  6. Line them in a baking sheet. Arrange them with space between each of them.
  7. Bake at 450 F for 12 - 15 mins until crisp. Remove from Oven and let them cool down. Store in an airtight container.
Recipe Notes

  1. Thawing the pastry sheets to room temperature is very important to make these cookies. Pastry sheets taken directly from the freezer will result in the breaking of the sheets.
  2. Cinnamon Sugar is used in this recipe. You can just add powdered sugar to make these cookies or any other combination that you like.
