Ennai Vazhakkai Pirattal

The one plant that is edible in any form is the Banana tree. Of this, I love raw bananas very much. Vazhaikkai/ raw banana is used widely in South-Indian cooking from curries, kulambu, avial , poriyal , podimas , kootu and varuval. It is very versatile and blends well with any form of food. I love this ennai vazhakkai pirattal , that is a classic chettinadu recipe. This pirattal is simple to make and goes great with sambar rice, rasam rice, or any variety rice like lemon, puliodharai and curd rice. With vazhaikkai and basic ingredients in the pantry, this ennai vazhakkai can be made in a jiffy.
