Coconut Makhana Ladoo

Whether its fasting or festivals, sweets play an important role in them. However there are few restrictions in making sweets when preparing ladoo. How about a ladoo that can be prepared in a jiffy with very few ingredients in under 15 mins? I made this delicious ladoo with coconut and phool makhana/ fox nuts that can be prepared for any occassion. It is very delicious to eat and healthy too. This ladoo can be made quickly and can be served as an evening snack for the kids coming back from school. Try this ladoo and enjoy during your fasting or festivals or as a quick evening snack.

  • In a pan, add badam and cardamom pods. Roast in low flame for 1-2 mins. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add a tablespoon of ghee. Add one cup of phool makhana. Roast for 3-4 mins in low flame until it turns crunchy.
  • turn off the pan and add quarter cup of coconut powder. Roast till it turns golden. Cool down all the roasted ingredients.
  • Grind them to a coarse powder in a mixer. Transfer to a plate. Add four tablespoons of condensed milk.
  • Mix everything together. Grease palms and shape them into ladoos. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

In this recipe, i have used dry coconut powder. You can replace it with fresh grated coconut. Dry roast them until golden brown in low flame and add to the ladoos. In addition to badam, you can also add walnuts and cashews. But i like to keep it simple, hence added only badam.
