Chettinadu Keerai Masiyal

Ingredients
  • 2 cup Spinach Leaves
  • 1/4 cup Moong Dal
  • 2 stick Green chilli
  • Salt
  • Tempering Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Jeera Seeds
  • 1 stick Red Chilli
  • 1 tsp Gingelly Oil
  • 2 tsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 tsp Chopped Garlic
Instructions
  1. Pressure cook 1/4th cup of moong dal in pressure cooker.
  2. Clean 2 cups of Spinach leaves and add them to a pan. Now add 2 green chillies and cook them with a half cup of water. Mash spinach with a masher. Add the cooked dal with salt to taste.
  3. Heat a pan with a teaspoon of gingelly oil. Add mustard seeds, jeera seeds, red chilli. Roast them and add two teaspoons of chopped onions, one teaspoon of garlic, and add them to the mashed keerai-dal. Serve with rice and ghee.
