BUN DOSAI || AVAL DOSAI

Dosai is an emotion if you are a proper south-indian.  There are many varieties of dosa that is available like the paper roast, ghee roast, masala dosa, millets dosai and many more. OF all these, some dosa varieties are famous in certain places like this BUN DOSAI . This dosai is very very soft like the bun. Hence it is called by this name. The main ingredients in Bun Dosai are rice and aval/poha. The addition of Aval makes a perfectly spongy and soft bun dosai. It is served with a spicy chutney as a side. Ingredients
  • 2 cup Raw Rice
  • 1 cup Poha
  • 3/4 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 2 tsp Sesame Oil
Instructions
  1. Measure , Wash and Soak 2 cups of raw rice with a teaspoon of methi seeds for 4-5 hrs. Wash one cup of poha/flattened rice thoroughly. Add 3/4 cup of grated coconut and soak about an hour.
  2. Grind everything together. Add salt and let it ferment overnight.
  3. In a Appam pan, add a laddle of batter. Smear some gingelly oil. Cook covered. Flip over and cook other side until done. Soft and Spongy Bun dosai is ready to be served.
